Day 68

"I can't drive 55" ~Sammy Hagar

Apparently, I also can't even drive 45, which is the speed limit on the road I was driving on. I get extremely annoyed when people don't go the speed limit. I'll admit that I have quite a heavy foot. In NH, where I learned to drive, the speed limit is merely a suggestion...even the State Troopers travel at about 10 miles over the limit. However, I don't get TOO impatient when people go the speed limit...but 15 miles per hour UNDER the speed limit, on a bright, shiny, not a cloud in the sky day? Ridiculous!

  1. Lol. Where I live, almost NO ONE drives the speed limit. It's just more like a "here's how slow you sholuldn't travel." All the police cars drive at least 10 over, and so does most everyone else (except for the obedient drivers and those who just got their license). Everyone knows that the police won't pull you over unless you're going at least 20 over.

  2. In NH, if you have a NH tag, they won't pull you over unless you are going 20+over (unless you look unsafe) However, if you have an out of state tag, you'll get pulled over for 5 over. I have to be careful, now that I live in MA, since there is quite a bit of animosity between the states.

  3. Wow. VA is a LOT stricter in their speed limit laws than where I live, so when when we're there we watch the speed limit more. I've heard they also like to pile on as many charges as they can when they pull over cars.
I'm pretty sure that when you get your license in VA you have to go to court and receive it from a judge. I think they do it to try to help lower the amount of crazy teen drivers.
