Day 52

Han: "What's going on...Buddy?"
Lando: "You're being put into carbon-freeze."

Abby and Daddy went to see "Star Wars in Concert" ( http://www.starwarsinconcert.com/ ) tonight. Along with the show, there were movie props and costumed characters. Rob's been brainwashing, I mean...sharing Star Wars with Abby since about 4 days after she was born. (seriously, I have a picture of him with 4 day old Abby on his lap, watching Star Wars) It was neat that they were able to share this concert together.

  1. Lol, oops, apologies for the Kerri and Dean comment, I was on the wrong account!

The four day old Abby watching Star Wars with her daddy is too cute. LOVE it.

  2. As a Star Wars geek myself, that is AWESOME. :D

Are Abby and her dad strictly movie buffs, or do they follow the "Expanded Universe" (books, comics, etc) too? Are they like some of us old schoolers who like to pretend that the prequels don't exist (especially since they utterly murdered Padme)?

    >> I've been a Star Wars geek since grade 7, when I first saw one of the original movies. Oddly, I saw the original trilogy backwards: Return of the Jedi, first, then The Empire Strikes Back, and then A New Hope (on an old VHS tape so old that Episode IV: A New Hope hadn't been added to the opening reel on it! - which I still think is the best version: Han shot first, and no cheesy CG Jabba scene).

  3. Rob is into all of it. Movies, books, toys, cartoon (well, really only because Abby likes it) The only reason he tolerates the Prequels is because it's all Lucas's vision...KWIM? He likes some parts of the remastered stuff...but gets annoyed by some of it. He gets mad at me when I refer to the books as "fanfiction" (but it IS...anyway...) because it's all approved by Lucas...so that it keeps with his vision of the universe.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if JK Rowling did the same thing. Allowed other established authors to continue her story, with her approval...there is a ton more story to tell, even if she doesn't want to continue the story.
